Snow…. at last! :)

Bring on the coffee, cocoa, and cuddles!

J and I are hosting a holiday party for Creighton alumni in the Milwaukee area. There’s a surprising number of us living here, so it will be good to connect with friends (old and new) with common Creighton roots. We’ve also expanded the invite list to include some of our local friends, so it’s really a catch all party at this point. We’re not sure how many people will be showing up, but it will be fun regardless :)

We’ll be providing light appetizers, Christmas treats, and beverages. I’m not sure what I’m going to make yet. Does anybody have any tasty holiday recipes they want to share? A favorite Christmas cookie?

Find me on Facebook or Twitter for more details on the event!

It hasn’t even snowed here in Milwaukee yet, but I warmed up our first mugs of cocoa this weekend. I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow my love for marshmallows. I was given some Dean and Deluca Cocoa as a gift, and it’s absolutely amazing. It warms me to the core - I have a feeling this will become part of my winter routine!

Mmmmm………… :)

Thanksgiving hadn’t even passed and J and I were busy getting our home ready for the Christmas holiday. Decorating our one bedroom apartment last year didn’t provide nearly enough room to deck out for Christmas. This year we have not 1 but 2 trees and lights trimming the outside of our house. I’m not 100% done, but I still have a couple of weeks before the Creighton alumni party we’re hosting later this month.

Our finished work!

Basement Christmas tree with the first presents!

I love a good cup of coffee any time of year, but there’s something special about brewing a pot of coffee and cozying up with a good book when it’s cold outside. The only thing missing is a fire.

I am a sucker for Dunkin’ Donuts coffee (Strawberry Shortcake anyone?!), so when I saw this seasonal specialty, I couldn’t pass it up. Mocha Mint is definitely making my list of latest loves!
